Computer Forensics

CCC  has over 10 years of experience in handling computer evidence safely and securely for criminal investigations.

We use a comprehensive range of both in-house and industry recognised tools as part of our analysis suite and all staff are fully trained in the handling of evidence and use of applicable tools in accordance with ACPO (Association of Chief Police Officers) UK and other forensic guidelines.
We employ a standard procedure for the secure storage of evidential material, which meets all levels of legal requirements some of which are set out below:

  • Exhibits are recorded in accordance with the appropriate evidential standards prior to acquisition.
  • Images are securely stored until analysis.
  • Acquired data is verified several times during the forensic process to ensure the integrity of data as working copies, back-ups and disaster recovery purposes.
  • In certain circumstances evidence will be evaluated by two analysts to ensure the accuracy and quality of findings.
  • Clients are advised and kept up to date with the progress of cases to ensure the requirements and any possible limitations are fully understood.
  • All procedures are recorded and audited using in-house case management software Evitrack:DiscTrack.
  • This entire process, has been audited and approved by police forces.
  • Dual verification for the validation of findings is performed where needed.
  • Reports are provided for their audience in both technical and non-technical forms.

The company maintains a repository of hardware and software in order that a full range of exhibits; including obsolete technology, proprietary and rare devices can be analysed.

CCC have developed in-house software, tools, techniques and methodologies that allow us to efficiently achieve and maintain compliance in both:
